First meeting of the new season. Members are invited to bring along prints and DPI's that they intend to enter into the new season's competitions. This gives the Selection Committee an idea of what will be available for the Inter-Club Competitions through the year.

MCPF Portfolio  

The Travelling Portfolio is made up of prints and PDI selected from the Photofolio Exhibition held in June.  The winning images plus some of the accepted images go into make up an evening entertainment.  Two eminent MCPF judges make a commentary for the prints (first half) and PDI (second half)

Submissions must be entered on or before 01-Nov-16 'Open' subject - 2 DPI's per member. Tthe 'Created in Camera' competition is ideal for anyone new to photography competitions. Judged by the members to ensure a 'friendly' environment. For more details see COMPETITION RULES page

Carl Wright - “Advanced techniques for digital camera”

Now a regular at Whitchurch, Carl Wright covers areas like long exposures, the focusing system, white balance, HDR and metering modes. As ever there is also the opportunity to ask questions about any aspect of photography.

Bring along a panel of images mounted on a single mountboard (max size A1) that tell a story - i.e. different seasons, landscape at different times of the day, different aspects of a building. Minimum of 3 images. Judged by the members

Simon Watkinson will cover  'Hyperfocal Distance' - the correct selection of apertures to achieve optimum lens performance versus depth of field.  In Mastering Exposure, Simon will cover metering methods and the use of handheld light meters
